no photos
that’s right, again no photos, but I have the urge to write a post, so I shall : )
Today I have not touched any fabric, I have been toy sorting – argh! We are coming up to Birthday and Christmas time, so it has to be done!
But I have thinking about feedback I have had, and two bits really. One is from my mum, and another, I think Kim? About putting my pieces of other items, such as cushions, so I have bought some cushion insides and I’m going to have a play soon with those.
The other feedback from a few people I really respect is in regard to the prices I can for my work, my creativity. How much is right, how much do you pay for someone else creativity? Am I pricing myself too low, when I had thought it was too high. Would I get more respect for the value of the work that has gone into each item? Dunno, answers on a postcard to the usual address!
Today I’m listening to the new album by Menomena, and it is fab, it is called Friend or Foe and I guess it is a bit like Arcade Fire, but better!!
Book Group tonight, we have been reading Stephen Frys, Moab is my Washpot, and I have loved reading it, a real pleasure, and he swears with such style!

No no no, Arcade Fire is different! Menomena sounds a bit like TV on the Radio crossed with Muse crossed with Zbigniew Preisner, I feel.

about your prices, i gonna be really honest and tell you that they are very, very low. i have actually thought that for a long time; how do you make such lovely bags for such little money, especially with such high quality materials? just my two-pence worth, anyway.

i think i’d have to agree. but the pricing debate is a hard one.

Well, after all of that looks like another 4 bags just flew out of your shop! Congrats 🙂
I do think you could’ve charged a good 4-5 dollars more for the bag I bought, but it’s so hard to know. I guess just inch your prices up slowly, a dollar per batch at a time.
I’ve suggested corduroy to you in the past, but really any other material (lightweight wool?) that’s seasonally appropriate might also help with sales. Linen just isn’t worn in the fall/ winter where I live — only in spring and summer. The felt leaves definitely make the bag I bought feel more seasonally appropriate to me even though it was linen, which is why I chose it over recent styles that I’ve loved just as much.
Enjoy your weekend!

i feel like I am in the same place as you right now. Birthdays and Christmas are lurking and I really need to sort out toys.
And pricing. I question my style, my themes and my prices everyday. I’m at the point where I need to pull back my style, focus on my themes and be realistic about my prices. whether that is higher or lower, I’m not sure. You should branch out into other products, but only if you are sure you want to, not because you feel you have to.
