which one
I have never been happy with the way I display my corsages, you can’t have them loose, but putting them on card stops people being able to hold them up against themselves to see how they look, so in time for my Christmas fairs, and other potential stuff happening, enough was enough!
I had thought about moo minicards, but, I tried it, and it looked weird, so I thought I would try with the buff packing labels I use when I wrap and send items off.
So lets go, large one first,
So with this one there is plenty of room for any written info, and it looks nice, but on a table display, all that card takes up lots of room! So here is the small one,
as you can see only the end with the hole sticks out at all, so someone can pick it up and hold it against themselves, but still have it on a piece of card.
This is a comparison on sizes,
I feel that the smaller one is better, will give more room on a display, they can be hung up, and people can actually see them against themselves, but I NEED your help!
What do you think, hey, to encourage you a corsage will be sent to one of the lucky people who leaves a comment, offer closes midnight (BST) tomorrow, Friday!! Thank you : )
ps one of the reason for using these labels is then all I need to do is punch the holes, so I don’t really want to be cutting stuff out : ) Thanks for the ideas though!

I think little too. You can always write the info on the back of the card.

I really feel that the larger one is perfect not only does it allow you to write something, price etc it also means people touch the card and not your lovely felt therefore reducing the amount of wear and tear when selling. I feel very strongly that the smaller one would be a mistake, you can overlap the larger ones on a display table etc so I dont feel you would be stuck for room. Sorry to be so opinionated xxx

p,s I also feel the larger tag frames each corsage as deserved x
8th October 2009 @ 12:31 pm
Could you cut out some round pieces of card to put them on?!
8th October 2009 @ 12:35 pm
I prefer the larger one too, you could always trim the bottom off the tag to compromise…!!

I also think the larger one looks better. It seems to me that the small one is so small that you may as well not have it there!

I agree with Karren; the larger label definitely looks so much better than the smaller one as it provides a lovely background for the corsage. The small one only really provides the hanger! If someone is showing an interest in a corsage at a fair, you could always offer to take it off the card for them so that they can hold it up against themselves to see how it would look. I say go for the big one . . . much more classy :o)
(You could also have one or two corsages on your display which are loose, so that people can try those for size, then choose the colour they like best). Elaine xx

Are the holes pre-punched, or do you do it yourself? If you punch them, I think the large cards would be better, but with the holes punched futher down, so the corsage touches the bottom. That way it’s easier to hold it up against yourself, but customers would be holding it by the card, not the pretty felt (see above comment re. display wear and tear). As Karren said, you could overlap the cards on a table and it leaves room for you to put your written info/Raspberry logo and/or price. You could still hang up the larger ones. What about trying the fine curtain wire with fittings that they sell at Ikea? It comes with clips too, so you could clip them on the wires and people could take them down to try.
I hope this is helpful.

I too prefer the large one – purely so that you have somewhere to write info if you need too and so that people don’t have to touch the actual item to pick it up.

ooh, split opinions! On balance I like the smaller one, possibly moving it down a fraction and then I’d be tempted to put a little Moo Minicard attached to the whole too. Are you dizzy with conflicting advice yet?? The trouble is the more choice we have the harder it is. If you had done one way and not shown us the other, it would have looked great. Go with your gut instinct x

I prefer the large one – with a little rubber stamped logo would be lovely. I think it will look even more special and handmade for anyone buying as Christmas pressies.

I love the advice of Karen, Elaine, and Lizzie. I think the larger cards are the way to go.
(I suspect you were hoping we’d all go for the smaller card, though.)

I too, prefer the larger one, but I would suggest punching the holes lower down so that the corsage sits towards the bottom. You can then fold the tag in half, which would mean the corsage then has it’s own angled ‘stand’ too. Information can be written inside etc still and your rubber stamp logo could go on the top part of the tag. Just me two-pennith 🙂

Larger one me thinks! You could also punch a hole in the moo minicard and attach it to the top hole using some cool paper string.
8th October 2009 @ 1:47 pm
The larger one looks nice as in a piece of art type of thing, but the smaller one is much more practical & suited to packaging a product (but I’m no expert… 🙂
8th October 2009 @ 1:52 pm
I like the bigger one.. as there is room to stamp or doodle on the top as you wish and if you punch the holes slightly lower on the card and hold the card by the top you can still see how it looks against your jumper or coat….
also I like the itea of just having a mini moo card on a piece of ribbon or string attatched to the brooch… but that could be just me, I like to keep peoples moo cards.

The large one appeals to me!

Why not put the corsage on acetate square or even a tag? You could attach a small tag / moo card hanging off the acetate with the details / cost etc. More work I know but hey all ideas asked for!
8th October 2009 @ 2:22 pm
I think there are pros and cons for both. I would definitly try the larger one with your logo stamp at the top and the corsage lower down. Alternativly, you could go for a smaller one, but use your mini moo cards instead, only have those printed on one side with just your logo and have the logo on the reverse. . . might be bit pricey though. . .either way, the corsages always look so lovely.
8th October 2009 @ 2:31 pm
I would go with the larger one its functional, yet classy. I think you’re right about being able to imagine the corsage in place when browsing…but I don’t think the big one is too big…! I would, as others have suggested, move the two punched holes down so to include your brand, and etc. So, that’s my thought. Great job on finding multi-purposes for those tags! Its being innovative like that which will keep your beautiful art alive!
8th October 2009 @ 2:37 pm
I prefer the small card. As you say, you can then hold it up against yourself and see the effect. Your details can be added to the back. Hope this helps, I may well be back soon to ask your advice on displaying bags!
8th October 2009 @ 3:24 pm
I use the larger one, I know it is a bit more glumbersome, but you can put your web details on it so if people are giving it as a gift they know where to buy more. Also I think the large one protects the corsage more in terms of damage etc.
I use the large one to display my brooches on , the card sits nicely in a wire display board.

Sorry, i think the larger one looks better. Especially if somone was giving it away as a gift.
Take care

if it’s just a way of hanging them then i would go for the smaller, but if it is to present them then the large with your name/logo stamped along the bottom. we used to display our brooches on card cut as you mentionned that all needs cutting…
good luck with your descision making..

ps. i love that deep turqouise colour
just read your above comments before posting this and i love the idea of the large card becoming a little stand… inspired cara!

another vote for the larger cards, you can still hold these up to yourself & get a good idea if they will go with something, & i like that you could write or stamp something onto the card as well, which would look better if it was a gift for someone else.
8th October 2009 @ 5:13 pm
Definitely the smaller one. That way it won’t get in the way with trying on but you can still write on the back if you need somewhere to put the price etc. Also, if people ask how much they are you can say they’re priced on the back which encourages people to pick them up, which encourages them to try them – and (hopefully) buy them!

The larger one with the corsarge nearer the bottom of the tag.
This would allow someone to hold near the hole up against their jacket etc. Plus you could always ribbon up the tags and hang them from a branch or something as display 🙂 The back also gives you lots of room for pricing, info etc. And if short for space you can always put the top of one tag under the bottom of another, so only the corsage shows. I like the smaller one better if you are selling them yourself. The product looks better on its own than on the card backing, and you can include all your info without making the card look messy (as it’s hidden anyway). I think a stall with a selection of corsarges on the small card (just showing off all of their beautiful colours) would look much nicer than one interspersed with brown card.
HOWEVER just to be difficult, I think that if you are ever selling them in a shop or something like that, where you don’t have your own table and lots of banners and branding etc already, the big cards would work better for you purely for the fact that buyers could see your brand etc above the corsarges.
Small ones!

large
8th October 2009 @ 8:21 pm
I think I prefer the larger card, but your corsages are so beautiful I don’t think you can go too wrong. And I agree with everyone who said moving the holes to lower down rather than having them central. And if you feeling very brave, people could always (with your permission and eagle eye watching at all times!) remove them from the card to try them on?
8th October 2009 @ 9:08 pm
Definitely the large label. There’s room for you to add a little written detail on the front and to put a small sticker etc on the back so that the purchaser or recipient can refer back to you/contact you and buy another one in the future!
I also think that they would look nice with perhaps a length of string or matching wool threaded through the hole at the top, so they could be hung ( and that would give you some table space too).
8th October 2009 @ 9:47 pm
how about using the big one, but positon your gorgeous flowers nearer the top and chop the bottom of the label off a bit, make it a bit squarer. I’m sure squarer is a word…i Mean who wants to go to all the bother of writing ‘make it a little bit more square’??
make it squarer…it’s the way to go 😉
8th October 2009 @ 10:12 pm
it’s gotta be the bigger one Mrs. The small one looks a bit lost to me.
You can always overlap them to display them 🙂
9th October 2009 @ 5:10 am
just to complicate matters could you not use a bit of both? maybe you could use the larger ones for online sales and write your lovely little notes/website/etsy details on it … and for crafty sales use the smaller labels to maximise space p.s. it really is your beautiful corsages we’re after anyway 🙂
9th October 2009 @ 10:08 am
I think definitely the larger one – it frames your beautiful corsages much better and also gives more room for written details.
9th October 2009 @ 2:10 pm
I think the smaller one for all the reasons you state, plus you can still put all the information on the back that you would have put on the front of the larger ones.
Also a stand full of pretty flowers with only a little bit of brown cardboard will look great.
But then looking at them again the larger one does seem to frame the corsage nicely and seems a little more professional looking…. but then you want people to realise they’re hand made and not bought as a job lot so….
Oh I don’t know, I’m hopeless at decisions
9th October 2009 @ 2:54 pm
it is cheeky to comment in the hope of a gorgeous freebie but i honestly do prefer the larger card for all the reasons above, but mainly because it looks so good against the buff background.
10th October 2009 @ 5:03 am
I like the big one. I usually keep the tags from things if they’re pretty, and the bigger one looks like you could put more info on it.
10th October 2009 @ 10:00 am
I prefer the big one
