trying
too hard? Am I, I’m not sure, you know when you really like something yourself, but you get vibes from people that actually it isn’t what people either want or expect, what do you do??
There is a larger clearer photo of them both of my flickr stream, here.
So I’m not sure where next with these, I guess the three I have made I will list on Etsy and see what happens, unless any of you have some ideas/feedback on them, they are made from black suede and stuffed with my handmade felt. They are very tactile and measure 6.5cm across.
I think what I’m trying to find is something to run along side my corsages, which I love making and are very popular, but you can’t just stand still. I need to get more things made and available to buy, before I start thinking about all the other things I need to do!

Mmm, know what you mean. I love the shape, and the contrast between the suede and the felt. The black suede ,personally, I find too ‘harsh/heavy’ in contrast to the felt. I would love to see the design in a different color suede. My two bobs worth!

I know what you mean, both about it being difficult to change direction and start new things, and also about the brooches. I agree with Amanda above. But I quite like the black, but maybe you could add running stitch on the back around the hole, could soften it slightly. what about introducing small buttons to the holes…. just suggestions, what do I know. I’m sure you will get there in the end.

I love them, Not everyone likes a “flowery” corsage or felt hearts etc. They remind me of dried lotus seed heads (you know, the ones that look like mini showerheads!) Love the black suede, jewelly colours behind would be lovely too. Tiny seed beads peeping through would replicate seeds as in poppy heads/seed cases
