pot
of the coffee variety : )
up until really very recently we didn’t really drink that much coffee, even though I had the stove top pot above, a cafetiere, and until about a year ago a Krups Espresso machine! The machine has gone, but we now drink more coffee than ever before! One reason was that my darling husband did not drink hot drinks, but has slowly developed a taste for coffee! Yay!
Now the reason I’m going on about this is because of a memory I have, of coffee.
When I was little girl my mum has a coffee maker similar to this,
and watching it do it’s work on the hob was like a magic show! Watching it turn from water into coffee, a miracle, but then one day the magic stopped, because it either exploded, or more boring just broke, can’t remember which!
Now the thing is this, it is a thing of beauty, but would you buy one just for that magical effect, or is it something best left in your memory? If you are interested, you can buy one here!
Now another thing while I remember, why oh why do some people think that a safety pin on the back of a brooch is something worth paying for? I don’t often complain or rant about other people work/products, but there is a person on Etsy who has the most stunning brooches, just divine, but then for a fastener, she uses a bog standard safety pin, just stitched on, why?Any ideas, please let me know!

it’s a shame about the safety pin, maybe the person in question just didn’t know where to get hold of any brooch findings, i know when i last bought some, it did take quite a bit of trawling around the internet. i do agree that the key to selling handmade items is in the finishing off and detail, it’s so important.

funnily enough I just took some photos of my espresso maker on my stovetop the other day (haven’t shared them ,yet, though) is there something in the air? It looked amazingly similar to yours too…

We had a coffee percolator just like that – in fact, if I look hard enough, I may find it!
