wedding corsages
previously on raspberry (!), I had written about a request I had received to make a corsage for a friend to wear to a wedding, at last I think it is complete!
The brief was to make a large piece that would go on the wrap she would be wearing over this lovely and very pretty dress,
So I wanted to have something that would work with the lovely pink, coral and browns in the dress.
This is what I came up with!
and this is a close up of the beading detail,
It measures 6 inches/15 cms across and is fastened with a kilt pin, as she needs it to be quite strong and hold her wrap on!
I originally had it with 5 petals rather the 7 it now has but when we held it against the wrap and dress we decided it needed to be slightly larger, and as I had some more flet left I was able to add a few more petals and beads.
I really like the beads I have used, and I also added some freshwater pearls which i think work really nicely with the mains beads and the silk in the felt.
These are the other ones I produced at the same time, as tests and so she had a choice. These two are for sale!
Please let me know what you think, as I’m still unsure that people will buy these, due to their size and loudness!!! Also thanks for your patience at my lack of posts, I still don’t feel great, and I feel like I’ve lost so much time this week, but that as they say is another story!

I love the wedding corsage – beautiful felt, elegant beading and an altogether very sophisticated and stylish accessory – well done you, what a great heirloom – I can imagine it being wrapped in layers of acid-free tissue and brought out to show her grandchildren in 40 years time. I really like the bottom one of the other two (personally I prefer it to the top one as I’m a bit of a symmetry girl – good job we’re not all alike!). Your felting is always so beautiful – lovely layers of subtle colours – one day I’m going to have to buy one of your mounted pieces to put on my bedroom wall.
