inspiration
sometimes it is there is front of your eyes, jabbing you with a pointy finger, and you can see it immediately, and then other times you have to search and search, and search some more, it is like that right now…..

Hello! I’ve been enjoying your pics on Flickr and found your blog which is lovely too. Very interesting to hear your experiences of craft fairs – I did my first one two weeks ago and learnt a LOT! By chance, I made myself a bunting banner, too! Great minds eh? Hope you soon get your inspiration back – I’m sure you will, your work is lovely.

When I need inspiration, I go to the library. I search one thing that I want to learn about or look at (such as nests, for example), then I see those results and move through various other search terms and just peruse the shelves. I don’t know if that would help you…

I prescribe a walk in the woods, followed by a mug of steaming hot chocolate topped with chocolate sprinkles (and cream if you can bear the stuff – I can’t). Then add a warm scented bubbly bath, a good book or Mr Darcy. Relaxation often helps when we want our minds to work! Good luck.

I think it’sa bit like love, it creeps up on you when you are looking the other way.

What usually works for me is going to the library and browsing books followed by a walk in the park/woods (depends which library I go to). Then a cup of coffee in the cafe and home. Once I stop trying to force the issue and relax a bit the ideas start to come…..

mulled wine and snowflakes

I say go do something completely uncraft related. Drink coffee (I hear Costa Coffee have a fab range of Christmassy specials on at the moment), read a novel, listen to music, heck if you have to watch some day time TV (although I’d leave that as a last resort ;)).Unfortunately for us all I think inspiration can’t be rushed. It will come when it’s ready and not before.
Hope you find some soon.

I think Mum’s are always right.
She wrote ‘mulled wine and snowflakes’
how about some lovely snowflake coasters and table mats – you could do these with your felting?
Mmmm. Wish I was creative.

I’d say go out and fill the well – you can only make things for so long until you empty yourself out, so maybe a walk through favourite places, a browse in some favourite shops, an indulgent slice of cake and a stare out of a window, and if all else fails I highly recommend lying on the living room floor looking at the ceiling for at least half an hour. Eventually the mind quiets down enough to let some stuff roll out 🙂
