end of term

I think I must have written about it almost being the end of term at least three times already, does that give an indication of quite how much I’m worried about it?!

But it isn’t just yet, today is the last day for this academic year, and so Edward has gone off with a paper bag full of pressies, and as they shouldn’t be be reading my blog at work, I feel it is safe to discuss them!!

If you are a long time reader of my blog you will know all about Edward, and getting him into a new school, a school that could meet his requirements, rather a school trying to make him meet their requirements.
Edward has been as his ‘special’ school for a year now, and what has happened is amazing, yes some days at home are still not great, especially when he is tired, but overall he is so more content, calm and happy.
He can now walk a distance without complaining, he will write and read without moaning, he can get dressed quickly (socks are still a problem, sweaty feet I think are that problem!), and he is happy, did I say that already?!

So I wanted to show the teacher and LSAs who work with him every school day in his class just how much they mean to me, us and especially him.

I wanted to make something a bit different, and was struggling, and was looking for inspiration. A couple of weeks ago I went to the Contemporary Art, Design and Craft Fair at Winchester Cathedral, and I found these,

Aren’t they lovely, little ceramic magnets made by Josephine Middleton, and with this design I had my inspiration, I hope she doesn’t mind!

I have already showed little glimpses of what I was making, but here they are, three little bags, full of love,

Inside each bag is one magnet, a linen bookmark made by me, and some choccies from Hotel Chocolat, and for his teacher I made this,

Because her she has been so lovely with him, and us, she has said the most lovely things, and she is leaving, so next year he will have a new teacher, who I’m quite sure is just as lovely and will continue the great work that has taken place so far. I hope she likes the corsage : )

I had intended to make some chocolate brownies to take in for everyone at school, but with everything else, I failed on that, so I’m sorry, but I will make some next term I promise!
