thread
I’m using quite a bit at the moment : )
so harking back to my comments yesterday about the lack of Gutermann at John Lewis I have decided that I will write and complain, oh yes, what a shocking thing to do in Britain, complain!!!
I think as other people have mentioned is that Gutermann have such an excellent range, and to be honest, why should I use another make if I’m more than happy with what I currently use, also the last time I looked at the Coats range, they do not do the bigger spools in the colours I use, hmmph….
Well enough of my complaining, you may have noticed the two images above, well these are peeks from two of the new bags that I will be putting into the shop later, hooray!!
Later…..

It’s a pain. I’ve ended up buying all my thread online – which means keeping careful note of the numbers on the spools you’re using because colours are a nightmare on the computer monitor.
Do so so few people sew in England? I was told the other day that there’s not much call for thread any more? I makes you feel as if you out of step with the world.

You’ll just have to head north up the A34 Alice, because Masons in Abingdon stock Gutermann (and loads of good fabric and trim and crafty goodies). Can’t I lure you up?

I can’t believe John Lewis has stopped stocking Gutermann thread, that is so annoying, go on complain, if nothing else it will make you feel better!
I’m really liking your use of printed fabric on the bags, very cute.

I have to say I used to use the Gutermann’s thread, but where I used to work they only sold the Coats Drima and Slyko. Which is now coats cotton and drima…it’s vastly improved on the old version. Especially the coats cotton, which they’ve done in 250 & 40om or something to that effect. I only quit the job last week and I’ve already forgotten the meter amounts…-_-.

I think the only thing to do is to write and complain (sigh!). Yes it is awful to do so in Britain but more and more shops are stopping stocking sewing things – John Lewis used to have many more fabrics as well. Its so sad that all these things are disappearing – but blogs like yours inspire us all to carry on with our sewing. Thank you
