rediscovered
I love plain linen, but I have rediscovered pattern : ) Recently I got some new Joel Dewberry, and I have also sorted out some of the other pieces of Freshcut and Amy Butler that I have, and I’m now using it a bit more, well actually quite alot more, and all of the bags I put in the shop will feature at least one of those fabrics : )
And also lots and lots of green!
As I’m writing it feels like a man is about to drill into my brain, quite literally! As our next door neighbours are having work done in the house, and good god it is right next to my head, if he drills too far, he be in my head!!!
I don’t think that made any sense, but nevermind! I’m currently on the hunt for vintage mother of pearl buttons, about an inch across, so I hunting on eBay like mad! There was a woman last week who had 4lbs of them! But she was in America, so I decided that maybe that was a bit too far this time!
More soon!
Oh, by the way, if any of you use Gutermann thread and used to buy it from John Lewis, don’t bother, they have stopped selling it, well they have in Southampton at least. When I asked the woman about it, she looked at me like I was a piece of dirt! But I was wearing my hoodie!!

And your hoodie does have a couple of stains on it…

They’ve stopped selling it in Johnny L on Oxford Street too – made me feel most unwelcome. It’s still in liberty’s though…
Love the look of the new bag

Is it just me, or is guterman suddenly much harder to find? My local haberdashery used to sell it, always sold…now they don’t either, and they looked at me like I was mad when I asked where it was. Very strange goings on!

The fabric is beautiful!!!

I’m in NZ and it’s hard to find Gutermann here too. I find that the specialist quilting shops are most likely to have it, the local haberdashery shops tend to have cheaper, more likely to break, brands. That bag looks interesting, I liked the bird in the previous post.

I’ve just re-discovered you! I followed a link from the small object’s blog and gasped when I found myself here! I think when I started using bloglines, somehow I missed you off the list. I have so much catching up to do.
I’m loving your bags btw.

You are not the only person in pain about the lack of Gutermann in JL S’oton, I received an SOS from a friend the other day. They still do it in my local Hobbycraft (but the machine embroidery thread selection is dire) and my local sewing shop in Eastleigh (good selection as well as lots of other thread). BTW like the print fabric you are using.

If you want to you can send me a piccie of the sort of buttons you’re after. I might have some in my stash and I won’t use them.

hope your head remains undrilled! Love the latest shot – that fabric is gorgeous!
