zakka trees
I’m really drawn to the simplicity of Japanese design, really lovely, and very tactile. I’ve had an idea in my head for a while, and it is now starting to emerge : )
Linen is so perfect for this, it fits in so well, with the texture, movement, and in this case the subtleness of the colours. Though John thinks it should be more contrasting, but to me that wouldn’t work, would it?
This will of course end up as a bag! But I have to go and do some housework now, so I promise I will not touch for at least 30 minutes!!!

Is the 30 mins up yet? Is it finished? 🙂

That’s beautiful. I love your work so much! Can I ask….where do you get your linen from? I am having real trouble finding some nice quality linen, just so I can do a little bit of stichery for my neice’s school bag. I don’t know what else to use, (I’m not an embroiderer so am a bit stuck!)
Any other suggestions would be really appreciated too (at the moment it looks like she is getting a felt name patch!)
(sorry if I’m being cheeky asking you for help!)

what is he thinking?! Pale, subtle, understated – its perfect just the way it is. This is a lovely new direction. Rather than using fabric as a feature on the bags you ar now designing your own fabric via applique and stitching. This is best yet!!! I might have to buy it!

I think this is beautiful! I am drawn to simplicity more often than not and you don’t realize how hard it is to make something “work” when you’re only using one line or a few colors… this is perfect!!!
