a proper post
a-ha, yes a proper post! I have been busy doing stuff, and I have been unable to take decent photos because of the yukky weather, and then today I didn’t have the time until it was dark, urgh…
Yesterday I went to Between Dreams, a small gallery displaying and selling local artists work. I went there to have a look and show them some of my stuff and Johns, and they said, lovely and took nearly all of it!!! All the stuff I had made for the craft fairs!!! So, I’m very pleased, but now I’m going to have to work really hard! So other the next week I hope to be showing off more new and lovely stuff, I hope!
Today I went to Fibrecrafts near Guildford. I have to say I have not been a huge fan of Sat Nav systems, but I’m very glad I went with my Mother in Law and she has one! It was so complicated and twisty mad, but we got there and I bought,
a kilo of Merino wool tops, and they are divine, lovely to feel and stunning colours, not very well re-produced with the Flash going off! A really lovely lady helped me, and let me get a very wide selection of colours, almost a bit of everything.
I also got some lovely bits that I would use the twiddly pretty bits!
These include denim fibres, dyed flak and dyed silk tussah, mmmmm lovely stuff.
I had to get more merino as I have been commissioned by a friend to make a large corsage for her to wear on a wrap to a wedding, and I’m doing it to go with her dress, so it should look lovely. So I’m currently making up some felt to make it. As soon as I have some bits I’m happy with I will show you all.
Once again I would like to say thank you for all your comments, and I will mail some of you over the next few days, but my brian has not been working properly, and had problems at school, now resolved, so I hope stress levels will be dropping for a little while.

Those fibres look stunning and congratulations to you for having Between Dreams take all your work. What a buzz!
Hope ‘school’ is sorted.
Am looking forward to seeing the wedding corsage ( we do get to see it – right?) 🙂

Good news about the shop. Don’t forget that Wingham Wools (sp?) is at The Elizabeth Country Park next weekend – I have to go on an Horticultural Society outing with the hubby , so I will miss it. Have you seen my felt venture over on my blog

What a gorgeous stash! I’d be sticking it in prime view and stroking it lots – even though the flash may not do it justice the colours do look fabulous. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming work. Congrats on the gallery – brilliant news. Don’t work too hard next week – remember half-term is looming! 😉

Never thought I would say it but after driving round and round Nottingham the other evening looking for Talbot St I really wish I had sat nav. Think it may have to go top of my Christmas wish list if I am ever to drive in an unknown town again.

Its a dream of mine to go to fibrecraft, its like my craft mecca! Living in ireland I’m delighted they offer mail delivery. I adore their silk fibres, they add such a lovely lift to the marino.
