felt

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

even though some things are quite hard at the moment, namely the whole thing with Edward and appeal/tribunal, I have actually felt quite positive today : )

I guess as we have had an extra day, today has been a nice relaxing day, with no expectations!

I played with my new camera,

but didn’t sew, but Rome wasn’t built in a day!

sneaky : )

I don’t want to promote the place I work at on here, this is my own blog, which I love and have not dedicated enough time to recently, however, I would like to draw your attention to something : )

On Domesticali and Little Cotton Rabbits there is an offer running on a meat box that I designed for a family of four, if you would like to try it out, while it is on special offer, go take a peek here and here!

Hope that hasn’t offended anyone!

springtime

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

but when I say that I want to finish it with ‘for Hitler‘ every time, and no I’m not being politically incorrect unless you call loving this film politically incorrect : )

This past week has been beautiful, and even though we do need some rain, could it just rain at night please!?

Need to motivate myself a bit more at the moment, no sewing going on here, but I want to, does that count?

come outside

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

sorry no Auntie Mabel though!

for the first time ever all our blossom is out together, I guess this has happened because of the cold winter, so we have the plum, almond and cherry out together, the one above is the cherry, and below is the plum,

at least with the plum it actually produces fruit, lovely Victoria ones, but the cherry and almond are just ornamental.

The cats are also enjoying the lovely sunny weather, and rolling around in the grass. I managed to catch Eddie in between the snapping of blossom : )

I have also started something in the past week, which has made me feel better, I get up at 6am to go for a 3 mile walk! It is so lovely, and quiet, and it makes me feel so much better, so I can recommend it! I get back home, have a shower and make brekkie, and be more motivated than if I stayed in bed until 8am!

Lets hope the sunny days carry on for a bit longer!

let them eat cake!

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

you know you can never go wrong with cake, can you!?

no, you can’t,

ever get it wrong,

however many you ‘have’ to try!

I would like to point out that these were all tasted/tried in the name of work, good god, it’s a hard life sometimes, that and ice-cream!

So that is why I’m currently not around so much, almost working full-time, so less time for blogging, twitter and sewing : ( But I do get to eat cake!

Today was quite nice really, weekends for us are always difficult, the boys are together for longer than normal, and well it can be tricky. Though this morning William made me play his ’strategy’ game,

I think the main idea behind this game, was that no one would understand it and so therefore he would win! Saying that, he really had made lots of effort designing the characters/actions etc, but had then not really worked out how you would play it!
Maybe tomorrow I will see if I can beat him!

new shoes

what more can I say,

and as soon as they came in the post, I put them on and showed them off : ) Am I a child?

new

Monday, March 1st, 2010

I have thought long and hard on new brooch/corsage ideas and have found it hard to come up with something different yet similar, interesting but not overwhelming, and finally simple yet pleasing, and now I’m happy with it.

I still have another six to make up in various different colours, and when they are all made, they will get listed somewhere, Etsy or NOTHS. I had wanted to get them done in time for Mothers Day, hahahahah, er yes, not much chance of that really.

Very busy here, lots of work at the farm, lots of stuff for Handm@de Winchester, and lots of stuff for Edward and school, this week he is seeing a Speech and Language Therapist, as he uses inappropriate language, and I would really like someone to explain what that really means!

Got carried away earlier and left a comment on the BBC news website about school places, oh well!

Also I seem to have become re-born to listen to music and see live music, couple of weeks ago we saw White Rabbits and Spoon, they were amazing, write-up here by my lovely one, and over the next few months I will be going to see Why?, Band of Horses, Built to Spill and I will be going to see Pavement at ATP in May, whooooooooo! Seeing Spoon made me feel like a teenager again, first time I have seen a band live since my teens that I have know all the songs! It was great!!

Hopefully more sewing soon, getting lighter in the evenings, makes me feel better : )

ideas

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I have new ideas, but no time, grrrrrrr, but I also have piles!

I have since added to these piles with new ones, but still nothing is finished, maybe later this week?

So this is just a quick post, but before I go, if you can please make a donation and support Manda do her Race for Life, please go here. I wouldn’t normally blog this sort of thing, but Manda has been an inspiration to me and has given me lots of advice, so please if you can sponsor her, because it is so important for her. Thanks.

paper cuts

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

not the sort that makes you wince in pain, how could such a tiny cut hurt so much, but the sort like this,

how much do I love this! I got the same Rob Ryan papercut print in this version for John for Valentines Day : ) It is as much for me as him, as I love it so much, and will probably frame it and keep it, only way I’ll afford one of his! As the screenprint version shown above is $470 in his Etsy shop!

Another papercut artist on Etsy who I love her dark and wonderful imagination is Elsita, her work is stunning,

There is something so theatrical about this art form which I love, maybe one day I could get one of her originals……. Anyway I thought I would just do a little post of about some of the things I love, which of course as mentioned include my lovely JB : ) Happy Valentines Day!

one for me….

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

…not one for anyone else!

er, yes, this is the design for the front of my new bag, it should be finished, but it isn’t : (

I now need it finished, it is a much bigger bag to hold all my farm work stuff, fed up with walking around carrying pads and bits of paper, it doesn’t make me look important, makes me look messy instead!
Also on Friday a quite rude and dozy woman serving me at Costa managed to spill almost an entire cup of Americano down me and my bag, so I want to get this finished!

Doing two blogs is quite hard work, though it is quite easy to write about yummy food! I’m doing a promo and giveaway on the farm blog. The promo is for organic sirloin steaks, and the giveaway, well that involves steak, and ice cream!! So if you are in the UK, head over here and have a look : ) I know it is naughty for me to keep on going on about ‘my’ other blog, but it is now part of me, and I wouldn’t if I didn’t think you wouldn’t be interested!

Yesterday John photographed some of my haberdashery items to add to his portfolio,

you can see more of them here, and I think you’ll agree they are rather wonderful : )

Hopefully my next post will be about a finished bag!!
