{"id":3967,"date":"2018-02-18T18:27:08","date_gmt":"2018-02-18T18:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/?p=3967"},"modified":"2025-06-02T08:49:29","modified_gmt":"2025-06-02T08:49:29","slug":"a-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/?p=3967","title":{"rendered":"a first"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnbloor.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">John<\/a> and I have worked together\u00a0on lots of designs over the past few years, from designs which I&#8217;ve created in fabric and felt, through to screen printed <a href=\"https:\/\/folksy.com\/items\/6957904-Cornflower-and-Hedgerow-Purse\" target=\"_blank\">patterns<\/a>, and then last year John created scenes that I completed with felt. These all worked really well in their own way, however they never quite achieved what I enjoyed using with fabric I bought.<\/p>\n<p>Getting tiny details, being able to use just small sections of printed fabric to embellish, or highlight areas, or to line my purses. Well on the third range that he&#8217;s designed for me, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/johnbloordesign\/\" target=\"_blank\">John<\/a> has nailed it!<\/p>\n<p>This is the lining, printed on an off-white\u00a0cotton,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3971\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric.jpg\" alt=\"Birch lining fabric\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric.jpg 720w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric-48x48.jpg 48w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-lining-fabric-80x80.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>It&#8217;s so good to see the little details of the brushstrokes of his design in each seed head.<\/p>\n<p>The main fabric is printed on natural linen, from one of my fabric shops <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fabricsgalore.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fabrics<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/fabricsgalorelondon\/\">Galore<\/a>\u00a0this is the first colour of the three colour print,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-first-colour.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3968\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-first-colour.jpg\" alt=\"Birch first colour\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-first-colour.jpg 720w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-first-colour-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-first-colour-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>you can see there is a theme here!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-two-colours.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3969\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-two-colours.jpg\" alt=\"Birch two colours\" width=\"720\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-two-colours.jpg 720w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-two-colours-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-two-colours-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>Then we have the orange, both directly on the plain linen, and also overprinting on the green to give more depth, lastly the third and final colour,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-all-three-colours.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3970\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-all-three-colours.jpg\" alt=\"Birch all three colours\" width=\"720\" height=\"721\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-all-three-colours.jpg 720w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-all-three-colours-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Birch-all-three-colours-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a>Well, of course, it was going to be the brown!
