Of course over a year a couple of the books have been a bit duff, but I would say that the good outweighs the bad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/f1359b65890ffc3a73b5ec2221353967.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"f1359b65890ffc3a73b5ec2221353967.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.raspberry.co.uk\/wp-content\/images\/march2006\/next-book-to-read.jpg\" alt=\"f1359b65890ffc3a73b5ec2221353967.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next book we will be discussing is the classic William Golding novel, Lord of the Flies. I read it originally at school, and I found it then to be a really exciting gripping novel, and almost wanting to be part of it all.<br \/>\nNow I&#8217;m reading it as a parent of a 4 and 7 year old, and it has totally changed the book for me. It is still gripping, but rather than exciting, it is shocking and disturbing. I won&#8217;t go into plot in case you have not read it, but I think what about with the boys in the book, is not far from what would happen with children now, or even adults.<br \/>\nI have really enjoyed reading this, and I hope it will make plenty of good discussion when we meet next week to discuss it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been a member of a book group now for about a year, and on the whole, I would say the books I have read have been enjoyable.
